The Shroomery at SA Farm is a woman owned addition, to our family operated 3rd generation farm, in Clermont County, Ohio. DIY Mycologist on a mission to produce the highest quality gourmet ‘shrooms, as we have done for our own family since 2009.

Our ‘shroom farm is Non-GMO, 100% Chemical and 95% Waste free. Our ‘shrooms provide a gluten free, protein rich, low calorie, low carbohydrate, source of fiber and antioxidants.

As I operate a controlled environment agricultural facility (CEA), we are able to accommodate orders year-round.

Freeze Drying Benefits

1.     Preservation of Nutrients: Freeze drying retains more of the food's original nutrients compared to dehydrating, which can result in some nutrient loss due to heat exposure.

2.     Longer Shelf Life: Freeze-dried foods have a significantly longer shelf life, often lasting up to 25 years when properly stored, compared to dehydrated foods that typically last around 1 to 2 years.

3.     Better Flavor and Texture: Freeze-dried foods maintain their original flavor and texture better than dehydrated foods. When rehydrated, freeze-dried foods closely resemble their fresh counterparts.

4.     Versatility: Freeze drying can be used for a wider variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, meats, and even entire meals. Dehydrating is more commonly used for fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

5.     Reduced Weight: Freeze-dried foods are lighter than dehydrated foods because more water is removed during the freeze-drying process. This makes them ideal for backpacking, camping, and emergency supplies.

6.     Minimal Heat Damage: Freeze drying uses low temperatures, which helps preserve the food's structural integrity, color, and nutritional content. Dehydrating involves higher temperatures that can cause heat damage.
